Hello sweet friends! What colors are you going to use for your Mabel blanket? I always love picking two light colored neutrals (like a white and a cream) and one fun pop of color, but I’d love to know what you’re thinking! 🥰
I chose Arctic (lighter greenish blue), Off White and White from Loops and Threads. Would show a photo but don't think I can . It is coming out really nicely. Thank you so much for your clear videos and all of your tips and tricks (as well as your very lovely demeanor!!!). I am so happy to be getting back to yarn work after a 25+ year break!
Omg! I cannot thank you enough for this!!! The blanket is beautiful and EASY just as you promised… heading back to your page to see what else you have on their. You are the only person that I have found who truly makes a beginner video that is easy to follow
Aw thank you so much! You just made my whole entire day! It might take me a little bit but I can't wait to get my channel full of tutorials like this 🥰 you just gave me so much encouragement! Thank you again!
Whenever I hear “Hello Sweet Friends “ I think the famous RUclipsr “Mary’s Nest” she made this saying a household word on RUclips 🌸 Thank you for sharing such a beautiful project with us
Aw that's so sweet! I haven't heard of her channel but I'll have to go look her up because she sounds like a kindred spirit 💕 So glad you love this blanket! Hope you enjoy!
I actually also have a question. I find when working with more than one color, the strands get so twisted and one usually runs out before the others. How do you keep them relatively even as you're crocheting?
@@marilynmcgillick2931 I haven't had too much of a problem with them twisting because I like to unravel a little pile of yarn to work with at a time (I have a bunch of reels on instagram I'll be sharing soon that will show what I mean if I'm not making sense here 😅) but the skeins do seem to run out at different times which is always a little frustrating! Wish I had some sort of advice here I'm so sorry...if I find any tricks for fixing this, I'll be sure to share them here! ❤
Aw yay! I'm so excited you love this pattern too and want to make a Mabel blanket! 🥰❤️ Yes, depending on how many yards of yarn are in each of the skeins you'd like to use, it can take up to 27 skeins to complete 😅 keep an eye on all the yarn/craft stores for Black Friday though because there's usually way good yarn sales coming up!
I LOVE this look! I'm trying to gauge if I can start a crochet blanket project and have it finished before Christmas. How long would you say this took for you to crochet this blanket?
Ah I'm so sorry I didn't catch this comment sooner! Please forgive me! I have two little daughters who keep me pretty busy so it always takes me way longer than it typically should/would with crochet projects 😂 but I've been able to finish these blankets in about a week before! They're a pretty quick make since the stitches are so chunky.
It'd be beautiful! I've seen others take this same pattern and change it to either hdc or dc stitches and it's so pretty 🥰 feel free to have fun and make this design your own!
How many skeins of yarn did you use here? Im going to go to the yarn shop and get some (I’m a beginner and idk how to judge how much one skein will actually create)
I'm so sorry it's taken me way too long to catch this comment 🙈 at the 0:15 time mark in the video, I go over all the materials you need to make this blanket! There you'll find the yardage of yarn and the hook size recommended. In case you don't already know since you mentioned you're a beginner, each skein of yarn from the store will have a paper sleeve on it and on that paper sleeve you'll find the number of yards of that skein. Then you'll need to do a little math to figure out the number of skeins needed for each project you make since each skein has a different amount of yards of yarn. Hope this helps! ❤️
With this blanket, the only time I'm crocheting anything in a back bump is just when I'm working into the chain. The entire rest of the blanket is single crochet through both the front and back loop like normal (normal single crochet through both loops). I hope that makes sense! 🧡

I'm thinking about ivory, almond and bay leaf green. What do you think?

Do you crochet the whole blanket in the back bump or just the first few rows?
